Inspirational Mixing Technology: Stationary Mixer for large Batch Processing
General
The PMD and PMD-VC intensive mixers are stationary mixing and dispersing units for processing large batches.
Separation of the mixing and dispersing operations provides for an extremely energy-efficient process that is especially useful for batches over 2000 l.
The compact enclosed design of the intensive mixer allows for integration into fully-automatic plants and prevents contamination from gases and dust.
Technique
- The PMD / PMD-VC intensive mixer is equipped with a height-adjustable high-speed dispersion disk and a low-speed tank floor/wall scraper
- Optimal mixing and dispersing efficiency through separation of the two operations
- The scraper arms support the process in that they intensively move the product into the operational zone of the dispersion disk
- In addition, the optimal design of the scraper ensures both very rapid product discharge and complete emptying of the tank, as well as good heat exchange via the tank wall
- The product is dispersed, wetted and homogenized by the shearing forces created by the dispersion disk.
- Solids are dosed either from above with the ADS (Automatic Dosing System) or below the surface of the liquid with the VDS (Vacuum Dosing System)
- Both charging systems allow for optimal agglomerate-free dispersion, defined dosing of solids and automatic adjustment of the position of the dispersion disk
- Excellent product discharge and complete emptying of the tank by means of wall and floor scrapers
- Various tank geometries allow partial batch processing
- Emission-free operation due to enclosed design
